To deflate, the valve must be unscrewed from the valve body, but watch out as once unscrewed, the air escapes with a loud noise. The valve must be screwed down very tightly, which can make it difficult to remove for deflating. We recommend using a pair of pliers, but use the flat portion of the head of pliers against the valve grips to unloosen the valve and then use hands to finish.
